Pay a Visit to the Center for the Arts

The Center for the Arts of Greater Manassas/Prince William County at the Candy Factory has been entertaining the people of Manassas since it opened in 1984. The center has performances for children and adults, and it even teaches classes. If you are looking for something to do, check out one of the center’s events or programs.

Take the Kids to a Show

The Center for the Arts is home to the Pied Piper Theater. This nationally recognized theater stages three musicals a year. Get tickets to see talented performers between the ages of 8 and 18 take on some of your favorite plays. The theater finished up Peter Pan in January and is getting ready for Disney’s The Little Mermaid on April 28 and 29.

See a Show with Your Friends

The center is also home to Rooftop Productions. This is the center’s own theater company, and it’s been going strong for a decade.

Mafia Murders Mystery Dinner Theater is the next show. There are still tickets available for the Feb. 23 performance, but the Feb. 24 performance is sold out. Get tickets so you can see a show and have dinner.

The Addams Family is next on the list. It will run from May 4–19, and it’s sure to be a ton of fun. You don’t want to miss this musical comedy.

Learn to Dance

Do you wish you could be a little lighter on your feet? The Center for the Arts has ballroom dance sessions on one Sunday a month. The next one is on Feb. 11, and it will be a waltz Valentine’s Day dance. The session will run from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., and dancers of all skills levels are welcome to attend. You’ll start with a dance lesson, and then you’ll get to hit the dance floor and try out your moves. This is so much fun, and you will learn quite a bit. The type of dance changes every month, so clear your schedule to attend as many as you can.
