There Are Some Hot Happenings Going on in Virginia!

There are a lot of great things happening in Virginia this summer! From new hotels, to festivals, and even new restaurants opening to try, you can find fun things to do all season long!

Graduate Hotel Opening

What says summer stay like a rooftop pool and bar? That’s just what you will find at the Graduate Hotel in downtown Richmond, which is set to open next week! Located a few blocks away from the Virginia Commonwealth University’s campus, the 205 room hotel will be the home to the Byrd House rooftop bar that overlooks Richmond and Brookfield, a café offering breakfast, lunch, dinner and bar.

Funhouse Festival

Bring yourself out to the lawn of the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg this weekend to experience Funhouse Fest! Enjoy live music, food trucks featuring fresh local food, and regional craft beers. Included in this year’s lineup is Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, The Staves, Sheryl Crow and more! You have the option to purchase single day passes or make it a weekend experience with the 3-day pass. Funded in part by the Williamsburg Area Arts Commission and the City of Williamsburg, this Funhouse Fest will make your weekend a great one.

The Boathouse Restaurant – Hopewell

In case you haven’t heart yet, The Boathouse restaurant in Hopewell is now open! Sitting directly on the water, the restaurant features three outdoor areas, a dining room, a bar, and even a private event space. If you haven’t been to any of the other locations, The Boathouse will feature the same Southern-influenced seafood menu with locally sourced ingredients.  Grab your friends and family and enjoy the perfect summer dining experience.

Strangeways Brewing Grand Opening

Opening to the public on June 23, the newly renovated Strangeways Brewing will be the second location for the company.  Owner Neil Burton has spent months turning his parents’ old menswear warehouse into this haven for good beer and home to years’ worth of collected beer memorabilia. Strangeways Brewing Fredericksburg will celebrate its grand opening from 11am to 11 pm on Friday, June 23 and Saturday from 11-8 and include a new beer each day, food trucks, outdoor games and music! Don’t miss the chance to celebrate the weekend with a great beer!
