Get Ready for EAA 186 18th Annual Chili Cook-Off!
Are you an amazing chili chef? Or do you just love chili more than the average person? Either way, you’re going to love the EAA 186 18th Annual Chili Cook-Off. This year, Chapter 186 of the Experimental Aircraft Association is looking for chili cooks and judges, so you need to get in on the action. You can catch this event on Saturday, March 24. It will start at noon and last until 3 p.m. Make sure you get there early enough to sample all of the chili you can eat.
Enter the Competition
Anybody is welcome to enter the competition, and you can create unconventional concoctions. Therefore, if you don’t want to include meat or want to go with a white chili, go for it. The choice is up to you. There will be five categories you can take home the prize for. They include Most Creative/Unusual, Mildest/Wimpiest, Best Presentation/Most Attractive, and the Grand Prize for the best overall chili. With so many chances to win, you’d be crazy not to try. You’ll be making the chili at home and then bringing it to the event in a slow cooker.
Other Competitions
What if you can cook and want to enter the competition but don’t want to make chili? That’s no problem. The event planners are also looking for those who can make cornbread, guacamole, and dessert. So, whip up something special and bring it in. Make sure you make some kind of creative enhancement to the dishes if you really want to take home the prize.

Attend the Cook-Off
Of course, you don’t have to cook anything to attend the cook off. Instead, you can just stop by to try the chili and other foods available. The suggested donation is only $5, so it’s an inexpensive event to attend. If you want to help choose the winner, you can also sign up to be a judge. They only need three to five judges, so if you’re interested, be sure to sign up as soon as possible. There is plenty of space for parking, whether you plan on bringing your car or your airplane.
