Flavor Run 5k in Washington, DC this October

Forget about color runs. That’s so 2016. Now, it’s all about the Flavor Run. A Flavor Run is like a color run, but the powder is fruit-flavored. Volunteers will wait for you at flavor stations, and when you run by, they toss the powder on you.

Sound like fun? Then sign up the Flavor Run Washington, DC, 5k. The race will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14 at the Prince William County Fairgrounds, and it’s going to be huge.

Here are some things you need to know about this race.

It’s the Ultimate White Party

Never been invited to a white party before? Now’s your chance. All of those flavorful colors will stand out so much more if you wear white, so gather up some white racing gear. You will get a Flavor Run T-shirt when you enter, but it isn’t white, so consider purchasing a white one at the event or bring your own. Then, when you run by, all of the colors will stand out and add to the fun.

Preserve Your Clothes

Do you want to remember the Flavor Run for the rest of your life? You can keep the colors in your clothes by spraying your clothing with vinegar and ironing the colors in. Then, you’ll have a souvenir to remember the special day.

Wear Your Shades

People are going to be throwing flavorful powder at you when you run by, and you don’t want it to get in your eyes. A nice pair of shades will keep the powder out of your eyes so you can focus on the race. If you forget your shades, you could end up spending most of the race digging powder out of your eyes.

It’s More Than a Run

So, what do you do when you reach the finish line? Go home? Of course not. After you finish, it’ll time to party. The Flavor 5k has live entertainment, vendors, food, and drinks. Invite your friends along and enjoy the party when it’s all over.

Don’t Forget Your Towel

You won’t want to get flavored powder all over your vehicle, so bring a towel to sit on after the event. Otherwise, your car will look like it suffered through a tie-dye explosion. That will look cool for a minute, but you’ll get sick of it after a few days.
