Manassas Fall Jubilee & Haunted Happenings
Fall is one of the best times in Manassas, Virginia. Along with golden, crunching foliage comes crisp air and plenty of local celebrations. This year is no different. The Manassas Fall Jubilee returns for its 35th year, and Haunted Happenings once again takes over Old Town. Make the most of this season, and find out what’s in store at this year’s events.
35th Manassas Fall Jubilee
Venture to Historic Downtown Manassas on Saturday, Oct. 7 for the 35th Annual Manassas Fall Jubilee. This FREE event takes place among the shops, museums, galleries, and restaurants that make up the vibrant downtown area. You have from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. to enjoy everything offered at the festival. Peruse more than 100 crafter and community booths, play games, pick out pumpkins, and listen to live music.
Pumpkin is the official flavor of the season, so it should come as no surprise that the Fall Jubilee will feature two pumpkin pie contests – one for baking, and one for eating. You can find the application forms along with official rules online.
Once you’ve had your fill of pumpkin, visit the museum lawn to find the beer and wine garden. Sample drinks from different brands, and perhaps discover a new favorite.
Haunted Happenings
For spooky fun that’s open to the whole family, come Saturday, Oct. 28 to Haunted Happenings in Historic Downtown Manassas. Come from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and get your fill of candy and characters. Make sure to dress up – the little ones, especially – since there will be a kids’ costume contest that afternoon. Downtown merchants will have candy available for trick-or-treating, so stop by all of the shops and fill up! Enjoy Halloween-themed games and activities, too.
