About the Trail

During the last day of the Second Battle of Manassas on August 30, 1862, Deep Cut was the scene of an intense, bloody battle between Confederate and Union soldiers. As you travel the trail, you’ll notice that the terrain isn’t very difficult to navigate. You’ll even find a sign located where the Stonewall Brigade was positioned during the attack. At the end of the hike, you’ll see the Second Manassas Monument. People of all ages will enjoy a bit of exercise and education about our nation’s history.
