Try Something New In D.C. At Winter Restaurant Week
Do you always go to the same restaurants week after week? Change things up by taking part in Metropolitan Washington Restaurant Week on Jan. 14 to 20. More than 100 restaurants participate in restaurant week, and each one offers three-course prix-fixe meals. You can grab brunch or lunch for $22 and dinner for $35 at these restaurants during the special week.

Capitol Hill
Capitol Hill is known for its delicious restaurants, and it really shines during restaurant week. Charlie Palmer Steak is an excellent option if you want a dry-aged New York Strip, or you could head to Ambar for Balkan Cuisine. You will fall in love with the bread and wonder why you’ve never dined here before.
Downtown/Golden Triangle
If you find yourself in the Downtown/Golden Triangle area, head straight to The Bombay Club. This is Indian cuisine at its finest, and you just might run into a politician or two while enjoying your meal.
You’ll also want to check out Ocean Prime. The steak and seafood here are divine, but keep one thing in mind. It’s only serving dinner for restaurant week.
Dupont Circle
Let’s say you’re in Dupont Circle. You’ll want to check out Iron Gate, especially if you’re with a date. This romantic restaurant has a cozy fireplace, and it’s perfect for date night, especially when you consider the delicious Mediterranean cuisine.
Does your date prefer sushi? Sushi Taro is another excellent choice. Everything here is perfect from the sushi to the sake, and it’s all authentic.
Georgetown
You’ll also want to head to Georgetown so you can go to 1789 Restaurant. This is another hot spot for dates, and you’ll need to wear your best. Jackets are required here, and the deal is only available for dinner. It’ll be worth the wait when you sink your teeth into the contemporary American cuisine.
Are you craving Italian? Filomena Ristorante is a must-visit. Where else can you get handmade pasta? You’ll feel like you’re actually in Italy, especially when you take that first bite.

Ivy City
If you want to dine in Ivy City, you need to check out City Winery. This place just opened, and it’s serving dinner during restaurant week. You’ll also want to try some of the wine while you’re there.
La Puerta Verde is also a hit. It has some of the best grilled avocado guacamole around, and you can’t beat the cocktails. They are reasonably priced and delicious.
