Comparing the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser to the Competition
The 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser has a much higher price tag than the rest of the Toyota lineup, for good reason. This full-size SUV has the features, materials, and capabilities of luxury models but is more affordable than they are. It comes fully packed with features so you don’t need to make any upgrades and will never notice a lack in any way. Since the Land Cruiser is competing with models from premium brands, find out how it stacks up against those SUVs.
The 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser Pricing
While the 2017 Land Cruiser may seem expensive for a Toyota, it is a great deal for all the features that it offers and its powerful engine. It is cheaper than the Land Rover Range Rover Base, the Escalade Premium Collection 4WD, and the LX 570, beating the first and last models by around $10,000 and $5,000, respectively, when comparably equipped.
The Land Cruiser’s Power and Towing
The Toyota Land Cruiser runs on a V8 engine with 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. This puts it neck and neck with most similar models from luxury brands and beats the Range Rover’s V6 engine by a significant amount. While it is similar to the competition in terms of engine output, the Toyota has a large advantage in terms of towing. It can tow nearly 400 pounds more than the Range Rover Base and a full 1,100 pounds more than the LX 570.
The 2017 Land Cruiser’s Interior Space
You can also easily fit the entire family or a large group of friends inside the 2017 Toyota Land Cruiser, something that can’t be said for all the models mentioned above. While the LX 570 and Escalade Premium have seating for seven, the Range Rover only has room for five.
Toyota’s Standard Features
To make the Land Cruiser an even better value, it has a long list of features as standard. While most competitors have some of these as standard, as well, they won’t have all and some may be optional. For example, the running board that comes standard on the Land Cruiser is optional on the Range Rover, as is an exterior automatic day/night mirror and a power sunroof. A compass, which is also standard, isn’t even available on the LX 570. The Land Cruiser is standard with ventilated front seats. However, the Range Rover doesn’t offer these on the Base configuration while the LX 570 charges extra for them. The Land Cruiser is also the only one of the above models that come standard with a refrigerated cooler box.
