11th Annual Patrick Ryan Gay Memorial Golf Tournament
The 11th Annual Patrick Ryan Gay Memorial Golf Tournament is coming up in late May, giving you the chance to play a round of golf with friends while supporting a great cause. Following past successful events, this one should also be a spectacular day.
Where and When
This year’s Patrick Ryan Gay Memorial Golf Tournament, also known as “Pat’s Q,” will be at the Stonewall Golf Club, located in Gainesville at 15601 Turtle Point Drive. The event is on May 25, and registration begins at 7:30 a.m., which is also when the driving range opens. At 8:30 a.m., the driving range will close, and the introduction and player instructions will begin. The Golf Tournament Shotgun is at 9 a.m., and there will be a buffet dinner at 3:30 p.m. After this, there will be a raffle, live auction, and awards until the event ends at 5:30 p.m. Registration is $175 if you register early, or you can register a foursome for $700 or a twosome for $350. The registration page also lets you register and sign up as a sponsor at the same time.
Supporting a Good Cause
The proceeds from this year’s Pat’s Q fund three scholarships to James Madison University in Patrick’s name that will be given to seniors attending Fauquier High School, Kettle Run High School, and Liberty High School. These scholarships were chosen since Patrick graduated from JMU, which he loved, in 2007. Other portions of the proceeds will benefit Fauquier Family Shelter and Spiritual Care Support Ministries of Warrenton. Additionally, there will be various cash awards.
How to Get Involved
There are a few different ways to get involved in the 11th annual Pat’s Q. You can golf, become a sponsor, or donate a raffle item. If you want to golf during the tournament, register soon since it typically sells out quickly. The tournament setup includes a Captain’s Choice Scramble for foursomes. For the raffle, the organizers are looking for donations of merchandise or gift certificates from local businesses. All sponsors and raffle donors will be recognized in the program.

About Patrick
Patrick Ryan Gray died in 2007 at age 22 when a drunk hit-and-run driver crashed into him as he was walking close to Charlotte, North Carolina. Pat had landed a job at Lending Tree in Charlotte after graduating from James Madison University that May, and he was a compassionate person who was loved by everyone. The first of what would become the annual Patrick Ryan Gay Memorial Golf Tournament was on what would have been his 23rd birthday.
